With Skippy XL the ancient board game "Peg Solitaire", also simply known as "Solitaire" (dont mistake it for the card game), comes to new life. The object of the game is to eliminate balls and finish the game with only one ball remaining on the board, preferably in the center position.
Playing Skippy XL is easy: You simply tap the ball you want to jump with, then the field you want it to jump to. The ball thats jumped over will be removed from the board. But only certain jumps are allowed: you must jump horizontally or vertically, and you can jump only over one ball at a time to a free adjacent field. On triangular boards horizontal as well as diagonal jumps are allowed. Vertical moves are not possible.
Cheating is not possible, Skippy XL only allows valid moves. The program has an undo function to revoke all the jumps of a game and can hint at possible moves.
Though the idea the game is based upon is very simple, Skippy XL nevertheless strengthens the ability to think logically, improves the power of concentration and helps you keep a flexible mind. Dont be surprised if you have to put on your thinking cap. You might call it Chess with balls. Its also perfectly suitable for children.
Skippy XL has 31 different boards in 9 different materials. There are wood, marble and glas balls, sporty players can use golf and tennis balls for a mental workout. When new designs become available you can download them from the Internet directly to your iPhone. See a movie of Skippy XL in action on my website.
Just in case you are wondering: Skippy Lite is not a social networking tool. It can not connect to Twitter or Facebook. I am thinking about implementing a global highscore system though. What do you think?
